Part of my series "Dance for the River". A photography series pairing dance with environmental awareness. My goal was to create a visual journey along the Yadkin River, photographing it through the bodies of UNCSA dancers as they engage with it. The project is intended to make us aware of the beauty of the river, but also the current polluted state of it. By putting a human scale to these issues, we are more aware how we play in that balance.

My first hot air balloon ride in NM. This guy crammed 10 of us in one balloon, and I was terrified for my life. But at least I got a nice picture out of the deal.
Not quite a baptism, but a river blessing. I was invited to document this little guy's dedication to the natural world through a river blessing.
The transition into adulthood is an emotional one regardless of the ceremony that celebrates it. A mother is overcome by tears after her daughter was baptized in Skull Creek on Hilton Head Island, SC.
I was in the right place of a wedding ceremony to capture this bride's joy as she jumped into the groom's arms.
I loved the color of the lanterns against the dancers at this wedding reception.
Hands down, one of the most fun stories I've photographed was the St. Anne's Krewe parade during Mardi Gras.
